Esteban is a 25 year old photographer based in New York City.
He was raised in Miami and educated at the Art Institute of Boston
at Lesley University. Shooting for over a decade, Este specializes
in portrait & editorial photography. He also works as a freelance
photo assistant, & digital technician.

Q&A

How long have you been in photography?  15 years

What got you started in photography? I was too shy to continue in theater at my arts-based middle school, so a friend of mine gave me a camera and told me to give it a shot. It was the first time I had felt artistic since I lack the motor skills to draw well. I was attracted to that, and to the technical challenges of the darkroom.

Do you have any mentors?  Alex Tehrani.

What’s the best part of what you do? Getting to do something different or go to a new place every day.

What’s the worst part of being a photographer? Having to do something different or go to a new place every day.

Has being part of APA helped you in your career? Definitely – it’s put me in a network of talented assistants who have helped me expand my skill set and client pool.
